support the culture global stocktake

there’s a culture gap in climate policy.

The Culture Global Stocktake for Climate Action (CGST) is a global, participatory process assessing how culture already contributes to climate action, where significant gaps remain, and what governments and other actors can do to better integrate cultural dimensions across climate policy and implementation.

Inspired by the structure of the UNFCCC Global Stocktake, the CGST addresses mitigation, adaptation, finance, technology, capacity-building, loss and damage, response measures and international cooperation. It is both a policy framework and an ongoing process: developed through public consultations and written contributions, tested through advocacy and implementation, and periodically updated as the international climate policy landscape evolves.

The current process is building toward the second Global Stocktake (GST2), which concludes at COP33 in 2028, with COP31 in Antalya representing the next major opportunity to strengthen the recognition of culture across UNFCCC processes and preparations for GST2.
